The Torsion Add-On for 5900 frames brings a whole new level of testing capabilities to your lab, including the ability to reduce the product development time, simulate real-world applications, and free up needed test space. Adding torsion to a universal testing system is a simple way to convert an axial-only testing machine to a biaxial testing system.

The Instron^® Torsion Add-On for electromechanical universal testing systems is designed for simple, simultaneous axial and torsional testing of devices and/or components, but can be used for purely uni-axial or torsional testing.

The Torsion Add-On easily mounts to any new Instron 5940 or 5960 systems or can be retrofitted in the field on existing Instron 5940 or 5960 systems. The torsion drive is mounted above the machine’s crosshead and all required electronics are mounted to the system’s column, thus maintaining the frame’s original footprint.
